Leonard clinches inaugural Herts Open by a stroke from Smith.
Mid-Herts Pro Rob Leonard won the inaugural Herts Open at Old Fold Manor on May 16 by one stroke from amateur Ben Smith of Sandy Lodge. Rob is pictured with the trophy, sponsored by Lexus, and Ben after the event.
The event was a great success, with an even split between professionals and amateurs.
Playing in the final group, Leonard led the way with a morning round 69 to Smith's 70.
And in the afternoon, Leonard birdied the dangerous 18th hole to clinch victory at the same course where he won the Herts County Championship in 2004.
Smith finished leading amateur.

Glen Portelli (Brocket Hall) who had the best round of the day with a 68 in the afternoon, finished. third.
Paul Hetherington was the next best Professional with a score of 145, due to a cool putter!
Laurence Allen of Brookmans Park was next best, with 146 which was enough for him to be the highest placed Trainee for a second year.
Anthony Hughes (A1 Golf) was the next best trainee with a score of 150, in his first tilt at the event.
