Hetherington Wins 2011 Hertfordshire Matchplay

Paul Hetherington of Great Hadham GC defeated Peter Lane of Harpenden GC in the final of the Hertfordshire matchplay at Brocket Hall GC played on October 19th 2011 on the Palmerston Course.
After losing the first two holes, one to an excellent birdie Paul steadied the ship with two pars including a great up and down from the trap on three and taking the fourth.
The following eleven holes were played in eight under par, nine birdies, a par and a bogey, with two chip-ins, to record a five and three win, over Peter whom completed the fifteen holes in level par.
Having won the Order of Merit twice before Paul had not won either the stroke play or matchplay titles previously.
A great & sporting match played in fine autumnal weather!
